Artist Profile: John Moyers

FWA's 2008 Artist of the Year is a member of the Cowboy Artists of America and one of four artists selected to participate in the annual Rendezvous at the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He also has been a participant in the prestigious Prix de West Show at the National Cowboy Museum on Oklahoma City.

“Sonora Nights”

John and his lovely wife Terri Kelly Moyers, a previous FWA Artist of the Year, and their son Josh make their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Terri and John met while studying under renowned Western artist Robert Lougheed at the Okanogan Game Farm Workshop in Princeton, British Columbia, Canada. John is the son of CAA artist William Moyers.

Harley Brown's Inspiration for Every Artist

Harley Brown generously donated the profits from the sale of this book to Friends of Western Art. The proceeds of which where added to the FWA Harley Brown Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to deserving art students who wish to attend workshops at the Scottsdale School of Art.

Renowned artist Brown explained, "My book brings together many of my personal convictions and principles about an important part of my life art and how I exist in the very thick of it. Over the years these considerations came to mind while I was drawing, walking, teaching art or eating a bowl of ice cream."

Unfortunately, Brown's Inspiration for Every Artist is now sold out but the FWA is delighted to have been a part of not only sharing his artistic insights but also providing educational support to a number of artists.
